Creating Fake Gobo (feat. Kate)

Hello there, thought of sharing this tutorial on how to make a fake stripe gobo.
Check out the video inside!

1. Duplicate the layer by dragging the original image to the ‘Create a new layer’ icon or by simply hitting command/ctrl J.
2. In the Toolbox, select the Custom Shape Tool, then use ‘Tile 2′ (slanted stripes of black) in the shape option.
Make sure that ‘Shape layer’ or ‘Fill pixels’ is selected.
3. Choose black color.
4. Drag out the shape on the image.
5. Blur it using Gaussian Blur under Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur, then choose the desired blur radius value.
6. In the Options Bar, change the Blending Mode from Normal to Soft Light.
Changing the Opacity can be another option to mix the shape with the image.
7. Then delete unwanted spill of the blurred shape from the image by using Erase Tool or by masking it out.

And that’s it! I hope you enjoy it :)

Cheers!
